Volleyball: Sierra Leone's Ishmail Bangura receives two awards from his Varsity team

Sierra Leonean Volleyball Star Ishmail Bangura has made a quantum leap in the game of Volleyball at his Goshen College Athletics Program in the United States of America after receiving two awards from the Goshen Mail room.

The star who secured a scholarship to study at the Goshen College in the US this year and at the same time pursue his aspirations in Volleyball, has won the hearts of many spectators and players alike whilst Goshen inducted him into their list of starting players.

He was given two certificates of award, sent by the NAIA in the United States through the Goshen Athletics Departments.

One was for being among the Wolverine–Hoosier Athletic Conference (American first team all conference) and the other for being among the All freshmen Team.

For this honor, student-athletes are chosen as the top athletes in their team sport by the opposing coaches. This is initiated by each coach nominating players from their team. A ballot is then sent to all coaches to vote for the best players, but coaches are not allowed to vote for players from their team.

Ishmail, 27 , went on to say that " he was elated by the news of his leap in the team.

"If I didn't play Volleyball with discipline I wouldn't be on the Goshen Varsity team , If I wasn't on the team , I wouldn't get these awards".

Ishmail Bangura's story is an amazing one which he hopes to use to inspire Volleyball enthusiasts back home.
