The United States Embassy in Freetown has issued a notice condemning the attempted forceful seizure of Wilberforce Barracks and armory which started overnight on 24th November, into the early hours of 26th November.
The embassy states that such action is without justification and urge for cooperation with government security forces’ in quelling responsible parties in the preservation of peace and democracy.
The Ministry of information and Civic Education has since informed of the capture of assailants, debunked reports of the seizure of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting corporation’s premises and reiterated the continuation of curfew.
