On September 9, 2023, Special Olympics Sierra Leone held a one-day training for field workers at their office on Sheriff Drive, Off Lumley in Freetown.
The trainer, Patrick Massaquoi, helped field workers learn about the different types of disabilities that Special Olympics athletes have and how to be sensitive and respectful when interacting with them.
He also taught them how to administer questionnaires to respondents. The training was part of Special Olympics Sierra Leone's efforts to improve the quality of services it provides to athletes and their families.
The organization is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, and this training was an important step in that direction.
