SLFA Commences the Construction of four Standard Artificial Turf Pitches across Sierra Leone

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced that construction of four standard artificial turf pitches across the country has commenced, fulfilling its promise to improve the playing atmosphere. The work began on July 31, 2023.

In July, the Vice President 1 Harold Nat Johnson concluded talks and signed an agreement with Edel Grass to construct pitches at the SLFA Football Academy Field, Approved School Playing Field, Port Loko City Field, and Bo Coronation Field.

The project, which is funded by the FIFA Forward Program, is expected to have a positive impact on the development of football in the country. The projects are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.

The renovation of Kono Town Field, Kenema City Field, and Makeni City Field is also part of the project.
