The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has appointed Victor Lewis as the new chairman of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board (PLB) for the 2023/24 season.
Lewis, a football Maverick who has spent his entire life in the game, is also the CEO of East End Tigers FC, the team that he led to relegation in the recently concluded Sierra Leone Premier League.
Lewis is a seasoned administrator with over 20 years of experience in the Sierra Leonean football scene.
He has served in various capacities, including as the chairman of the East End Tigers FC board of directors and as a member of the SLFA executive committee.
However, he has also been praised for his commitment to developing football in Sierra Leone.
The SLFA said in a statement that Lewis was appointed to the PLB chairmanship "in recognition of his wealth of experience and his commitment to developing football in Sierra Leone."
Lewis is expected to start functioning in his new role immediately, as the new Premier League season is due to commence soon.
In a statement, Lewis said he was "honored" to be appointed PLB chairman and promised to work hard to "revive the Premier League and make it one of the best in Africa."
He also said he would focus on improving the financial and administrative aspects of the Premier League, as well as on promoting youth development.
Only time will tell whether Lewis will be able to revive the Premier League and make it one of the best in Africa.
However, there is no doubt that he is a qualified and experienced administrator who is well-known in the Sierra Leonean football Make-up.
