Mamoud Kamara, 38, engineer, Alie Barrie, 32, and Amara Sesay, driver have been remanded into custody at the Male Correctional Facility on Pademba Road in Freetown, during the ongoing preliminary investigation into theft at the Sierratel Office.
On Wednesday, the third of July 2024, at Komrabai Village, Lokomasama Chiefdom, Port Loko District, the North West Region in Freetown conspired together and with other unidentified individuals to commit the crime of larceny.
On the same date and location, the accused individuals stole B15 3606 CDMA 3/2 site, six Aviat Eclipse IGbps microwave link, Dc rectifier cabinet 48v.200 Apm, twelve deep cycle VLAR Gel battery and other assorted items equivalent to the total value of three million nine hundred and seventy three thousand seventeen Leones (3,973,17,00) property of Sierra Leone Telecommunication Company.
Consequently, the accused individuals were arraigned on two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime and larceny. However, the accused individuals have entered a plea of not guilty.
The prosecutor, Sergeant I.S Bangura, requested an adjournment date in order to conduct a proper conference with his witness. The accused individuals did not have legal representation in court.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura has adjourned the matter to the 6th of August 2024 for further hearing.
