This crucial goal ignited a wave of excitement and jubilation among Sierra Leonean fans, as it marked their first-ever AFCON win against their West African rivals.

The victory has profound implications for Sierra Leone's qualification aspirations for the 2025 tournament. Having accumulated four points, they now occupy the third position in Group G.
