Sierra Leone Secures Bronze in West Africa Trophy

Sierra Leone defeated Ghana by five wickets to win the bronze medal in the West Africa Trophy, hosted in Lagos, Nigeria. With this victory, Sierra Leone has also qualified for the Africa Champions Trophy.

Sierra Leone batted first and scored 150 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Ghana bowled well to contain the Sierra Leone batsmen, but captain George Edward top-scored for Sierra Leone with a 40-ball 45.

In reply, Ghana were bowled out for 145 runs in 19.5 overs. Sierra Leone's bowlers were excellent, with pacer Lansana Lamin picking up three wickets and spinner Raymond Coker taking two wickets.

Sierra Leone's victory is a significant achievement, as it is not the first time that they have won a medal in a major international cricket tournament. Their performance in the West Africa Trophy will give them a lot of confidence as they head into the Africa Champions Trophy.

Congratulations to the Sierra Leone cricket team on their historic victory!
