The Sierra Leone Under-19 Cricket Team (Junior Patriots) has commenced workouts in Dar Es Salaam to enhance their playing skills in preparations of the competition in the ICC U-19 Men's World Cup Qualifier Africa Division 1 Tournament.
The team is working on a variety of skills, including batting, bowling, fielding, and strategy, all towards acclimatizing to the prevailing East African weather.
The Junior Patriots will play their first test match tomorrow against a combined 11 from the best sides in Tanzania.
This will give Coach Kenneth Masinga a chance to evaluate the team's strengths and weaknesses.
The team's first match in the Qualifier will be against sub-regional "brother" Nigeria on July 24 and they will then face the "bulldogs" of Kenya the next day.
The Junior Patriots are hoping to make a strong showing in the tournament.
They are confident in their abilities and are determined to represent Sierra Leone on the world stage.
