Sierra Leone's Beach Volleyball Double Secures Inaugural Triumph in China


Sierra Leone's esteemed beach volleyball duo, Musa Kamara and Alie Jalloh, have etched their names in history by claiming their inaugural victory at the ongoing FIVB Under-19 Beach Volleyball Championships in China.


The dynamic pair, who also hold the distinction of being African Under-19 Gold Medalists, outclassed the tournament favorites, the hosts, in a thrilling 2-0 set victory (21-12, 21-19).



Their journey to China was marked by a challenging 15-hour layover in Dubai. Despite encountering initial obstacles such as travel fatigue and a hospital visit, they displayed resilience and determination, ultimately delivering a remarkable performance against the Chinese team.


With this momentous victory, Sierra Leone has positioned itself for potential advancement to the Second Round. Their next match against Germany will be a crucial test as they strive to maintain their winning streak.



Coach Dida, who leads the Sierra Leonean delegation, expressed his profound pride in the team's accomplishment and highlighted their unwavering commitment to achieving even greater success in the tournament.
