Sierra Leone's AFCON hopes fade after Zambia's unexpected win against Ivory Coast

Sierra Leone's endeavors to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have encountered a substantial setback as a result of Zambia's unexpected 1-0 victory against Ivory Coast on Friday.

Zambia's triumph has cemented their position in the tournament, presenting Sierra Leone with a formidable challenge in their concluding group stage encounter against Zambia on Tuesday.

With Zambia having already secured qualification, the forthcoming match will be perceived as a mere formality.

Ivory Coast, the reigning African champions, had previously confirmed their spot in the subsequent AFCON tournament.

They will now engage in competition with Chad in their final Group G match.
