The Sierra Leone Kabaddi Association, in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Tug of War Association, will hold a one-day demonstration and launch event on September 24, 2023, at Aberdeen Beach in front of Kallon Car Park. The event will be free and open to the public.
Athletes are currently training along the beach in preparation for the event. President Sonny Johnson has stated that the event will provide an opportunity for people to learn more about the sport of kabaddi and see some of the country's top athletes in action. He added that the sport has seen significant improvement in the country since its inception over a decade ago.
The Sierra Leone Kabaddi Association believes that the demonstration will help to grow the sport in the country.
