Sierra Leone Golf Association (SLGA) calls for support to participate at Zimbabwe’s Junior Open


The Sierra Leone Golf Association (SLGA) has appealed for support to enable its golfers participate in the Zimbabwe Junior Open, scheduled to take place from 18-20 August 2023 at the Borrowdale Brooke Golf Estate in Harare.


The President of the SLGA, Ibrahim Sankoh, made the call during an intensive training session for the golfers at the Freetown Golf Club. He said that the association was facing financial challenges and needed support from the government and other stakeholders to send a team of golfers to the tournament.


Sankoh said that the golfers were talented and had the potential to compete at the international level. He added that participating in the Zimbabwe Junior Open would be a great opportunity for them to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience.



The golfers expressed their gratitude to the SLGA for the opportunity to train and compete in the Zimbabwe Junior Open. They said that they were determined to represent Sierra Leone well and make the country proud.
