Sierra Leone Cycling team Prepares for Commonwealth Youth Games

The seventh Commonwealth Youth Games is about to commence on the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago between 4-11 August 2023. 1000+ athletes and para athletes will converge to showcase their sporting disciplines and Sierra Leone will be represented by the UBUNTU cycling team.

The team was put together by Fatima Deborah Conteh, a decorated Cyclist to empower other ladies who have a passion for this particular sport.

According to her, the establishment of team "Ubuntu" Cycling Club which Means "Humanity" was to achieve gender parity and help the Country to compete in various International games, previously going unattempted and unrepresented.

One of the mentees of Fatima , oluwatosin Blessing Adeola Atunwa, believes that the team will change Sierra Leone's Narrative of women in sports internationally.
