Raymond Coker made MOTM after taking Four Wickets for 22 Runs in ICC U-19 World Cup Africa Qualifier

Raymond Coker, a bowler for the Sierra Leone Junior Patriots, was named Man of the Match after taking four wickets for 22 runs in four overs, with an economy rate of 5.50, in Sierra Leone's nine-wicket victory over Nigeria in the 2023 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifiers in Tanzania.

Cricket is a growing sport in Sierra Leone, and Coker's performance is a testament to the country's recent progress. Sierra Leone is one of the few countries in Africa with a national cricket team, and the team has been steadily improving in recent years.

Coker's performance against Nigeria is a major boost for Sierra Leone's hopes of qualifying for the 2024 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Sierra Leone will need to continue to improve if they want to qualify for the World Cup, but Coker's performance is a good indication that they are on the right track.

After this victory against Nigeria, the team met with President Julius Maada Bio, who was in Tanzania for a conference. He congratulated the team on their efforts and encouraged them to continue pursuing their goal of qualifying for the Cricket World Cup Africa. The team was delighted to meet the President and expressed their commitment to winning more matches. However, they lost their next game against Kenya.

Despite the loss, the Sierra Leone Junior Patriots have shown great promise and will be a force to be reckoned with in future tournaments.
