Premier League Board to receive 1.5Billion old Leones from Sierra Leone football Association



The newly constituted 2023/24 Sierra Leone Premier League Board under the leadership of Chairman Victor Lewis has on Thursday 28th September 2023 met with Premier League Clubs at the Sierra Leone Football Association board room to discuss pertinent plans of the league, supervised by the board.


During the meeting, the board disclosed that this season will commence with a community shield to be played between last season’s champions and runners up, Bo Rangers vs Mighty Blackpool on the 28th October 2023.


The league itself will officially commence on the 3rd November 2023 and clubs will be given eighty (80)million Old Leones each, to be disbursed by the Board after receiving 1.5Billion old Leones from Sierra Leone football Association.


This year’s winner will receive five hundred (500) million old leones, and runners up will receive two hundred and fifty (250)million old leones.



The board concluded on their expressed hope to introduce the reviewed PLB rules and regulations documented at the Brookfields Hotel in 2022, after the completion of clubs’ registration on the 27th October 2023 and for the first time in Sierra Leone’s football history, FIFA connect (online registration of players)will be used in the league.
