Odense Boldklub has expressed its congratulations to striker Mohamed Buya Turay on his call-up to the Sierra Leone national team for two friendlies in October. Turay, who has scored five goals in 10 appearances for Odense Boldklub this season, will join the Sierra Leone squad for matches against Benin in Morocco.
He is one of the most important players in the squad and will be hoping to help his country qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Africa Qualifiers. Odense Boldklub manager Andreas Alm took to X to deliver his congratulatory message saying,
"We are very proud of Mohamed for his call-up to the Sierra Leone national team."
He is a fantastic player and deserves this recognition." Turay said: "I am very happy to be called up to the Sierra Leone national team again. It is an honor to represent my country and I am looking forward to the two friendlies in October."
The two friendlies will be a good opportunity for Turay to impress Sierra Leone's Interim head coach Amidu Karim and stake his claim for a place in the starting XI for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
