Mohamed Kallon appointed as Leone Stars' Head Coach, Aiming for AFCON Success

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially unveiled as Mohamed Kallon as the new head coach of the national football team, the Leone Stars. The two-year contract was established based on a gentlemen's agreement.



The appointment follows a series of private discussions, and the contract will run from 2025 to 2027, leading up to the Pamoja Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in East Africa.


SLFA President, Thomas Daddy Brima, expressed confidence in Kallon’s abilities and requested that the nation unite behind the new coach to help achieve the goals set during his tenure. 



He emphasized the importance of support from the entire country for the success of the team in the upcoming years.


Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), also commented on the appointment, highlighting the government’s satisfaction with the progress made so far. 


He stressed the government’s commitment to achieving positive results and urged the nation to fully support Kallon as he assumes this important role.



The brief appointment ceremony, supported by the SLFA and the Ministry of Sport, was marked by a sense of unity and anticipation for the future of Sierra Leone football. 


Mohamed Kallon expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Sports, the NSA, and SLFA for the opportunity to serve his country. **



He noted that he is honored to take on the responsibility and is determined to lead the Leone Stars to success.
