Masoner Faces 18 Months Jail Sentence for Wounding


Magistrate Sahr Kekura, on Monday 15th of July, 2024, slammed an 18 months jail sentence on Alusine Jalloh, 32, a masoner shortly after he pleaded guilty to a charge of wounding. 


On Saturday 29th of June 2024 at Vincent Drive Malama, Lumley in Freetown, the convict maliciously wounded Solomon Koroma. 



On the same date and place the accused person assaulted Solomon Koroma in a manner thereby causing him actual bodily harm.  


Consequently, the convict was faced with two counts of wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. 


Before the judgment was handed down, the convict narrated that he and three other individuals engaged in a fight when the complainant intervened and tried to separate them. 



According to Jalloh, it was in the process that the complainant was trying to separate them that he incidentally got injured. Jalloh pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy. 


After the plea in mitigation, Magistrate Kekura slammed an 18 months imprisonment on the convict or pays a fine of two thousand Leones to the State. Inspector Sellu TAP prosecuted the matter.
