The National Football Team of Sierra Leone, known as the Leone Stars, has announced a formidable squad for the forthcoming double header against Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifying matches.
Coach Amidu Karim has meticulously selected a combination of seasoned and emerging talent, incorporating five home-based players into the squad. These players include Issac Caulker of FC Kallon, Francis Koroma of Wilberforce Strikers, Nathaniel Jalloh of FC Kallon, Mohamed Bangura of Wilberforce Strikers, and Nabieu Navas Daffae of Luawa FC.
Nathaniel Jalloh and Nabieu Navas Daffae are making their senior debuts for the Leone Stars, while Mohamed Bangura brings with him previous experience gained from matches against Chad and Zambia.
Issac Caulker and Francis Koroma are established members of the national team, contributing their experience and talent to the squad.
The Leone Stars have also been bolstered by the return of Issa Kallon, a highly skilled forward whose inclusion is anticipated to enhance the team's attacking capabilities.
Other notable call-ups include Amadou Bakayoko and Tyerese Fornah, who will be joining the team from their respective clubs abroad, bringing their international experience and expertise to the squad.
The double header against Ivory Coast, the reigning African champions, will be held on October 11th and 15th.
These matches are of paramount importance to Sierra Leone's aspirations of qualifying for the AFCON tournament.
