Sierra Leone's national football team, the Leone Stars, has arrived in Monrovia, Liberia, to advance their preparations for the critical 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Guinea-Bissau, scheduled for Thursday, March 20, at the SKD Sports Complex.
The delegation, under the leadership of Coach Mohamed Kallon, comprises 17 domestically based players alongside the experienced MLS striker, Kei Kamara. The squad has engaged in rigorous training in recent weeks to ensure optimal readiness for this important fixture.
Following their arrival on Sunday evening, the team prioritized light recovery sessions to mitigate the effects of their journey from Sierra Leone. Comprehensive training is scheduled to recommence on Monday morning in preparation for the match.
In addition to the local contingent, eight international players are expected to join the squad in Monrovia, including the France-based defender, Juma Bah, due to arrive on Monday evening.
Coach Kallon expresses confidence in the integration of skilled homegrown players, believing strongly in their capacity to perform effectively at the international level.
