The Leone Stars technical team, led by head coach John Edward Keister, has announced a 23-man squad to face the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau in the final group A match of the 2023 CAF TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Monday, 11 September 2023 in Bissau.
The goalkeepers are Mohamed N Kamara, Ibrahim Sesay, and Donald Kamara.
The defenders are Osman Kakay, Abubakarr Samura, Emmanuel Samadia, Alpha Turay, Lamin Conteh, Edward Bello Yillah, Abdulai Juma Bah, and Joseph Cleveland.
The midfielders are Alhassan Koroma, Saidu Fofanah, Salieu Bah, Mamadu Saidu Sow, Ibrahim Turay, and Mohamed Kabba.
The strikers are Augustus Kargbo, Jonathan Morsay, Rodney Michael, Ron Gandi Williams, Augustine Williams, and Amadou Bakayoko.
The squad includes a mix of experienced players and newcomers, with the aim of giving everyone a chance to impress.
Keister is hoping to lead the Leone Stars to a victory in their final match of the qualifiers without captain Steven Caulker, and he will be looking for his players to put in a strong performance.
The match will be played at the Estadio 24 de Setembro stadium in Bissau. Kick-off is at 19:00 local time (GMT+1). It is noteworthy that Captain Steven Caulker is missing from the announced squad.
