Cricket Sierra Leone has taken a substantial step forward in its developmental endeavors with the initiation of the ICC Level 1 Coach Tutor Course. This rigorous three-day program, commencing from February 19th to 21st, 2025, at the Bank Complex Hall in Freetown, aims to empower indigenous coaches and establish a stronger cricketing future within the country.
Fifteen dedicated coaches are participating in this landmark course, refining their skills and acquiring valuable knowledge from expert facilitators. The program's objective is to elevate coaching standards nationwide, thereby benefiting the entire Sierra Leonean cricket community.
"This course is a significant measure towards raising the standard of cricket in Sierra Leone and competing on the international stage," stated Sylvester Mutusva, ICC Africa Master Educator. He emphasized the practical instruments the coaches will acquire, which will enable them to enhance the quality of cricket throughout the nation.
Francis Trevor Samura, Chairman of Cricket Sierra Leone, echoed this sentiment, characterizing the course as a "major milestone" in the organization's ongoing developmental initiatives.
