For six days, between 30th July to August 5th 2023, Amsterdam will be the centre of the World Gymnaestrada 2023 and participants as well as spectators from all over the World, including Sierra Leone will be welcomed to the Capital of the Netherlands.
In lieu of the above, the Sierra Leone Gymnastics Association has intensified training for gymnasts at their Brookfields training ground to better prepare them for participation at the World Gymnaestrada outing in Amsterdam.
The training opening session was combined with music from the national dance troop whilst gymnasts displayed different skills.
In her brief statement, the President of the Sierra Leone Gymnastics Association, Hannah Williams, noted the essence of the training and outlined efforts they have made to attract funds for their soon to be World Gymnaestrada Amsterdam.
Meanwhile, the training had a proper blend of Male and female gymnasts with unwavering desire to make headway in the sport. Mohame Foday Kandeh , a top gymnast, stressed on their level of preparedness to showcase the true picture of Sierra Leone internationally.
The aim now of every gymnast amidst the training is to promote the culture and beauty of Sierra Leone as they head for greatness with the wherewithal.
