The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has released a public notice strongly urging all citizens to stay indoors, in compliance with a declared curfew, following incidents of unrest in the late hours of Saturday November 25th, into the early hours of Sunday 26th November 2023.
According to the release, an attempted break-in into the Wilberforce barracks armory had caused the spates of firings but this has been quelled and the government is in control.
BBC and Aljazeera are reporting however, that this was an attempted coup.
The government is assuring citizens of their safety and that everything is under control.
