Football: Captain Steven Caulker recuperating from a knee surgery

Captain Steven Caulker of Leone stars, national football team of Sierra Leone has announced that he is recovering from a knee surgery after undergoing the operation on last thursday.


The British born Caulker who opted to play for his African roots and swiftly rose through the ranks, says he is hoping for  a swift recovery of about four to six weeks, to join his colleagues in the June 18th Match against Nigeria.



He posted on his Facebook page,


"I had a successful knee operation on Thursday, and will be recovering for 4-6 weeks. I am praying for a fast recovery so I will be ready in time to play against Nigeria🙏❤️"



Steven Caulker has been a key member of Coach John Keister's team since he had his Call-up for the National Team and all- throughout the last Afcon tournament in Cameroon.


Now that the chances of actually playing in the Nigeria Afcon qualifier clash hangs in the balance, speculations abound as to whether he will be replaced.
