Final list released for 6th edition of 50 most influential women

The Fifty Most Influential Sierra Leonean Women Awards Committee has released the final list of fifty most influential women in Sierra Leone, out of a hundred names released earlier this year.

The award is meant to honor exemplary women that contribute towards community and national development and who are promoting girl child education or served as inspirations to other women in the country within a given year.

The award which is an initiative of youths and women led organizations, spotlights women breaking ceilings and barriers in business, Government, Law, Education, NGOs and entertainment.

This year's list includes the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone Madam Fatima Bio, Former Electoral Commissioner for Western Region Madam Miatta French, Women’s right Campaigner Madam Fatu Takie, President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association Eddinia Michaela Swallow and Entrepreneur Fatima Sesay.

The award slated for 28th April this year at Freetown City hall will for the first time have tradition leaders, specifically Paramount Chiefs honoring award recipients and a special prayer for one of the award recipients who has since died after her nomination, Actress Henrietta Mbawah.
