Abdul Malik Tejan-Sie was dismissed last week as Director of the Directorate of Science, Technology, and Innovation (DSTI), a position he had held since September 2023.

He has been ordered to immediately surrender all DSTI property. Sources within DSTI suggest that although Mr. Tejan-Sie is considered intelligent, he failed to provide effective leadership or advance the organization.

An anonymous source said he "did not meet those expectations" and that "many things are stagnant" within the institution.

Jasper Sembie, DSTI's Chief Operating Officer and one of its original members, has been appointed as the new Director. It is believed his experience will allow him to effectively manage the Directorate.
