Daniel Kanu called up to Sierra Leone squad after impressing on loan at Southend

Charlton Athletic striker Daniel Kanu has been called up to the senior Sierra Leone national team for the first time, following his impressive loan spell at Southend United this season.

The 19-year-old academy graduate has scored four goals in four games for the Shrimpers since joining them on loan in October. His call-up is a reward for his hard work and dedication, and it is a testament to the quality of coaching at Charlton.

Sierra Leone will face Ethiopia on Wednesday, November 15th (7pm GMT) before taking on Egypt on Sunday, November 19th (4pm GMT). Kanu will be hoping to make his international debut in one of these matches, helping Sierra Leone qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
