Interim Leone Stars Coach Amidu Karim has named a 25-man squad for upcoming friendlies against Benin and Somalia in Morocco on October 14 and 17, 2023.
The squad includes first-timers Curtis Eugene Davies and Augustine Loof, who will be looking to impress Karim and his assistant coaches.
Davies, a 38-year-old defender, plays for Cheltenham Town in the third tier League One in England. He has experience playing for England's U-21 team, among others.
Loof, a 27-year-old center-back, plays for Dutch fourth tier side HSV Hoek. He has represented the Netherlands at the youth level.
Karim and his assistants, Francis 'Zapa' Koroma and Alhaji Foray, are hoping to have a successful run in the friendlies and identify potential stars for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Africa Qualifiers that commence in November.
