Bo Rangers, the champions of the Sierra Leone Premier League, will participate in the second edition of the West Africa Champions Cup (WACC) in Guinea from August 7-13, 2023.
The WACC is a tournament designed to help West African clubs prepare for the upcoming CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup competitions.
The tournament will feature the champions of seven West African countries: Togo, Benin, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Senegal and Sierra Leone.
The first edition of the WACC was held in Guinea in 2022. Horoya AC (Guinea), SOAR (Guinea), Casamance Sporting Club (Senegal), and Djoliba AC (Mali) participated in the tournament, with Horoya AC winning the title.
The WACC is a valuable opportunity for West African clubs to get some much-needed competitive action before the start of the CAF interclubs competitions.
The tournament will also help to improve the standard of football in West Africa.
