Bench Warrants Issued in Kamarainba Mansaray's Sexual Offences Appeal

The warrant was issued due to their failure to appear in court for a scheduled hearing, a development that has added another layer of complexity to the ongoing legal proceedings. Representing the State in this matter, A.J.M Bockarie Esq. witnessed the court's decision to adjourn the case until Thursday, February 27, 2025, following the issuance of the warrant.

This recent action follows the Court of Appeal's earlier announcement regarding the hearing of Mansaray's appeal against his 2021 conviction for sexual penetration of a minor.

The appeal was originally scheduled for February 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Law Courts Building in Freetown. The current situation has escalated the tension surrounding the case, as both the surety and the appellant are now facing legal repercussions for their absence from the court hearing.

The consequences of this bench warrant could have significant implications for both individuals, potentially leading to further legal action and complicating the appellant's appeal against his conviction.

Mr. Mansaray was initially tried and convicted on charges of sexual offences involving a minor but was released on temporary bail due to a deteriorating health situation.
