Bakayoko scored twice as Dundee beat St. Mirren 4-0, moving upward to fifth position

Sierra Leonean striker Amadou Bakayoko scored twice as Dundee FC defeated St. Mirren FC 4-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, 11 November 2023.

Bakayoko opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a powerful header from a corner kick. He then doubled Dundee's lead in the 55th minute with a cool finish after being put through on goal by teammate Zak Rudden. Rudden also got on the scoresheet in the 65th minute with a penalty kick, and substitute Zach Robinson added a fourth goal in the 80th minute to complete the rout.

Bakayoko's brace was his first two goals of the season, and it helped Dundee to move up to fifth place in the Scottish Premiership table. The win over St. Mirren was Dundee's second in a row, and it moved them up to just two points behind third-placed St. Mirren. The club is now looking to continue their good form in the coming weeks.

Bakayoko's brace was a crucial contribution to Dundee's victory, and it comes as he is set to represent Sierra Leone's national team for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Africa Qualifiers against Ethiopia and Egypt. Bakayoko has been a regular starter for Dundee since he joined them in the summer of 2023, and he is now starting to show his potential at the club. He is a powerful and athletic striker, and he is also a good finisher. Dundee fans will be hoping that Bakayoko can continue to score goals and help the club to challenge for a top-six finish in the Scottish Premiership this season.
