The Sierra Leone Gymnastics Federation (SLGF) is preparing for its highly anticipated National Gym Festival. The country's top gymnasts recently participated in a training session to prepare for the event.

Despite ongoing efforts to elevate gymnastics in Sierra Leone, the sport faces numerous obstacles to its growth.

Mohamed Foday Kandeh, the Deputy Coach of the Federation, shared his insights into the progress being made in transforming gymnastics in the country.

The athletes displayed their skills with impressive flips and routines, all in preparation for the upcoming festival and other competitions.

Although resources and equipment remain limited, the SLGF has achieved significant milestones.

Coach Kandeh emphasized the urgent need for full support from the Sierra Leonean people to help the sport reach its full potential.

Female gymnasts, including athletes like Belinda Kamara—both a gymnast and a coach—are also making strides to compete at the highest level.

Kamara's dedication highlights the increasing role of women in Sierra Leone's gymnastics community, ensuring that gender is no barrier to success.

As the National Gym Festival approaches, the SLGF continues to work tirelessly, striving to elevate gymnastics in Sierra Leone despite the challenges.

With continued support and investment, the sport will hopefully flourish in the years to come.
