60% of tallied results put incumbent President Julius Maada Bio in a lead in the elections



The National Returning Officer of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone Mohamed Konneh has announced partial results of the just concluded 2023 Presidential elections, showing incumbent President Bio of the Sierra Leone People’s party to be in a lead.


In the announced elections, a total of 60% of polling stations, shows President Bio has amassed one million, sixty seven thousand, six hundred and sixty six (1,067,666) compared to that of the All People’s Congress party’s Dr. Samura Kamara’s seven hundred and ninety three thousand, seven hundred and fifty one(793,751).


Other Presidential candidates scored between hundred or thousands but all below ten thousand, with the exception of National Democratic Alliance’s Presidential candidate, Mohamed Chernor Bah amassing fourteen thousand, eight hundred and twenty nine.


Citizens are reminded that these results have been cleared by Mr. Konneh and regional offices from Bo, Kenema, Makeni and Port Loko, with more tallied results, yet to be announced.
